Chūnichi Dragons Baseball Team Collaborates with Ace of Diamond
posted on by Eric Stimson
The Chūnichi Dragons, a Japanese baseball team based in Nagoya, is holding a crossover event on August 9 with the baseball manga/anime Ace of Diamond. Voice actors Ryota Ohsaka (eijun), Takahiro Sakurai (Kazuya) and Hiro Shimono (Norifumi) will have a discussion on the field at Nagoya Dome, the Dragons' stadium, followed by a special screening of the anime. Dragons and Diamond crossover merchandise will also be sold. The event follows a game against the Yakult Swallows and is part of that weekend's Dragons Festa, a festival at Nagoya Dome to thank Dragons fans for their support.
Tickets are free and can be obtained at convenience stores or Ticketpia. Although Ace of Diamond is about high school baseball, it has already collaborated earlier this year with the Seibu Lions for merchandise like sweaters, scarves and keychain pendants.
Baseball teams have been the center of a series of collaborations lately, including the Yokohama BayStars getting a bishonen make-over, and the Chiba Lotte Marines and Yomiuri Giants holding their own campaigns with My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!, the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles welcoming Wake-Up Girls! onto the field, the Hanshin Tigers getting their own manga issue, and Attack on Titan.
