In her tweet, Nakagawa referred to a picture book she drew about her pet cat titled Chibita no Seika Runner (Chibita, the Olympic Torchbearer), and wrote: "To think that what I drew in Chibita no Seika Runner has come true! It's an even bigger miracle than the dream that Chibita brought!"
Nakagawa has guest starred in 12 consecutive Pokémon anime films, including last year's film, Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us. She is also well known as the singer of the Gurren Lagann OP theme song "Sorairo Days." Besides her singing and voice acting work, Nakagawa is a talented artist who regularly draws comics and fan art.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay will take place from March 26 in the Fukushima Prefecture. The torch will travel through all 47 prefectures in Japan before finally being carried to Tokyo. The Tokyo segment of the relay will take place from July 10 to 24. Other celebrities who were chosen to be torchbearers include the sumo wrestler Hakuhō Shō, rugby player Michael Leitch, and KAT-TUN idol Kazuya Kamenashi.
