HanTsuki Light Novels Get Live-Action Film Green-Lit

posted on by Egan Loo
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora romance already made into anime, drama

ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko imprint announced in a special extra edition of its "Dengeki bootleg" email newsletter that a live-action film adaptation of Tsumugu Hashimoto's Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora - looking up at the half-moon romance light novels has been green-lit. The story follows the evolving relationship between Yuichi and Rika, a boy and a girl in the same hospital for different reasons. The six main novels and two short-story collections have already been adapted into a 2006-2008 manga series in Monthly Dengeki Comic GAO! magazine, a 2006 television anime series, and a live-action 2006 television drama series. Dengeki Bunko has not announced whether the new live-action film will retain the cast from the previous television drama.

BOST Digital Entertainment streamed the television anime series online in Australia and New Zealand in 2007.
