posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The Japanese rock band SOPHIA announced on Sunday that the band's keyboardist Keiichi Miyako was diagnosed with lymphoma. Miyako will be taking a break from the band after its ongoing 15th anniversary tour to undergo treatment. Miyako started experiencing symptoms in February, and underwent surgery on February 17 to determine the cause.
Anime Expo announced in February that SOPHIA would appear at the July 1-4 event in Los Angeles. The band will still perform at Anime Expo on July 3, but without Miyako.
SOPHIA performed "Boku wa Koko ni Iru," the second ending theme song for the Kaleido Star television anime series. In addition to its previous songs, SOPHIA will perform songs from its 15th anniversary album, appropriately titled 15.
