Absolute Duo Fantasy School Light Novels Get TV Anime by 8-Bit
posted on by Egan Loo
The MF Bunko Summer School Festival 2014 event announced on Sunday that a television anime adaptation of Takumi Hiiragiboshi's Absolute Duo light novel series has been green-lit. The studio 8-Bit will animate the project.
The story begins with Blaze — a weapon that is the manifestation of a human's soul. Tōru Kokonoe happens to be qualified for this, but for some reason his Blaze is not a weapon, but a shield. Moreover, he enrolled in a school that teaches combat skills, and thanks to the school's Duo partner system, he ends up living with a beautiful silver-haired girl.
Hiiragi-Boshi launched the light novel series with art by Yū Asaba in 2012, and Media Factory's MF Bunko published the fifth volume in June. Shinichirō Nariie launched a manga adaptation in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine last July, and Sunday's event announced that another spinoff manga series has been green-lit for Monthly Comic Alive.
Update: The official website has opened with a promotional video and key visual.
