The cover of this year's 29th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Shūichi Asō's Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan gag comedy manga is inspiring a live-action film adaptation.
The manga was previously adapted into an online Flash anime series that debuted in August 2013.
Asō's manga centers on a high school boy named Kasuo Saiki. He possesses supernatural powers that cause unfortunate events in his everyday life.
Aso launched the manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2012 after drawing one-shot versions of the story in Weekly Shonen Jump and Jump Next magazines in 2011. Shueisha released the 13th compiled book volume on May 1.
The manga has also inspired three vomic (voice comic) adaptations, two novels, and a mini-game on the "Jump Live" mobile app. The protagonist Kusuo Saiki also appeared in the Shonen Jump's J-Stars Victory VS+ PS3 and PS Vita game.
