She has overseen development, production, and distribution for works such as Mamoru Oshii's live-action Avalon film, Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, Cartoon Network's IGPX, Cyborg 009, and DreamWorks' live-action Ghost in the Shell film. Terashima-Furuta has also worked as a producer or executive producer on such anime projects as Love Hina, Immortal Grand Prix, Blood: The Last Vampire, Halo Legends, FLCL, Mao-chan, Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror, and Eden of the East. She and producer Ari Arad (Ghost in the Shell, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) attended Anime Expo last year.
Oshii said he has known Terashima-Furuta for 15 years, "and not only has she managed post production for all of my work, she's also provided all kinds of other vital support during the process. She's not blood-related to the CEO of Production I.G, but there's no doubt that they share the same essential spirit."
Terashima-Furuta entered the anime industry about 20 years ago. Looking back on her career, she said, "I've always known that anime was an integral part of the Japanese culture, but the huge leaps it has made since I entered the scene is humbling." She continued, "I'm constantly excited and inspired to not only continue to strengthen its brand, but also to help bring this deeply resonate art form and the stories and culture that are an intrinsic part of it, to people all around the globe."
Production I.G's anime titles include Ghost in the Shell, Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade, and Blood: The Last Vampire.
