Game offers trading/battle over local wireless, Pokémon Bank compatibility
Nintendo announced on Thursday that it will release Pokémon Crystal Version digitally for Nintendo 3DS via its Virtual Console. The game will launch on January 26, 2018.
Pokémon Crystal originally launched for Game Boy Color in 2000. The game followed the same base story as Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver, but with added features and story elements. It was the first game in the Pokémon franchise to offer a female player character.
The Virtual Console version will allow battle and trade over local wireless, and it is compatible with Pokémon Bank. The player will be able to encounter the Mythical Pokémon Celebi.
Nintendo previously released Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver via the Virtual Console on September 22.
