The show will be anime and manga licensee Viz Media's first original animated property. Netflix describes the story:
Set in Mexico in the 1970's era, Seis Manos centers on three orphaned martial arts warriors who join forces with a DEA agent and a Mexican Federale to battle for justice after their beloved mentor is murdered on the streets of their tiny border town.
Powerhouse Animation, Inc. (Netflix's Castlevania) is producing the animation. Powerhouse CEO Brad Graeber and writer Alvaro Rodriguez (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) are co-creators on the show, Dan Dominguez (Captain Underpants) is also writing, and Willis Bulliner (Agents of Mayhem) is directing. The series is billed as an "original anime," but Netflix has not announced any Japanese staff.
